It's nearing 20 years that we've been teaching at this glorious jazz camp. Nestled in the woods on the Lake Michigan shores of the dynamic Door Peninsula in Wisconsin this camp is a week long in the key of "F" -  fun, frivolity, frequent flyers, family, fourths, fifths, flat nines....well, you get the drift. This is for fun! I sang the jingle for the Washington Island Ferry  many years ago and finally had a chance to make the trip and perform at Washington Island's Trueblood PAC. Along the way, I stopped at a restaurant and heard the jingle on the radio.  I couldn't help myself and I started to sing with it.  A girl at the next table turned her head quickly and we became quick but brief friends. Lazy Afternoon  Featuring: Gene Bertoncini (guitar). It will be a "lazy afternoon" with the swinging and soulful sounds of jazz floating in the air. Bull Fall's Biergarten is the location.  We'll be headlining on Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m.  and a great time is in store! Hosted by the River Valley Jazz Society, the Sid Kyler Jazz Festival is a fundraiser for scholarships that are awarded to aspiring area students to study jazz. This annual event draws hundreds of old and new jazz fans! This year the festival is expanding. In addition to the Bull Falls Brewery as an event venue, the Festival will bring music to downtown Wausau restaurants as well, and will span Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
