I'll be singing with Mark Gungor at Waters Church North Attleboro, MA For years, I traveled with Mark Gungor and his lovely wife, Debbie as the opening act for his inspiring event "Laugh Your Way To A Better Marriage". Mark's event took me to places I'd never dreamed I would experience like South Africa. We covered the entire U.S., Hawaii and also went to Europe. I'm thankful for my friendship with Mark and Debbie. The featured picture is a candid shot I took of them while in Hawaii. They practice what they preach and have been devoted to each other and their families for their entire marriage. Mark once said "we stay married on purpose". Indeed. The clip is a recording at a live event. Mark plays piano and I rewrote the lyric to "If I Only Had A Brain" from "The Wizard Of Oz" and titled it "If You Only Had My Brain", for this event. If you get a chance to attend an event, I would strongly encourage you to do so. It's funny, entertaining and insightful! If You Only Had My Brain.
Last year, I attended a concert by The Oshkosh Chamber Singers. I was struck by the program of rather difficult pieces that were performed with a high level of execution while maintaining a joyful and emotionally charged dynamic core. Of course, under the direction of Herb Berendsen! One piece in particular brought tears to my eyes that streamed down uncontrollably. John Harmon was at the concert along with his wife. After another piece was finished, John's wife nudged me and pointed to John. He was moved to the same condition as me. A beautiful experience which I'll never forget. Fortunately, both John and I were asked to perform with this group on October 28th 2017. Some of John's pieces will be featured and we'll be performing a few together. We're looking forward to this concert and hope you'll join us. Information below. Legendary guitarist, Gene Bertoncini, Maestro, John Harmon and Janet Planet will perform, tell jokes and be just close enough...for love.
This event, developed to encourage the arts and music scene here in Wisconsin, has been in place for over 10 years bringing musicians "in from outside". This year, we stay home and feature "family". Janet Planet hosts a gifted musician who resides in Oshkosh. Tom Washatka is simply amazing. Come and be part of the family. Listen to "No Slate" written by John Harmon featuring Tom Washatka from his album, "Easy To Love" (indeed).
