I’ve always loved this song. We recently added to our list.The poetry slides off of the tongue and opens endless possibilities for interpretation.
In a way, it sings itself.
The story is tragic and Don McLean captured the essence of Vincent Van Gogh. The words came to him as he looked at the 1889 painting “The Starry Night”.
